I have recently been blown away by life, by the endless possibilities and unimaginable adventure of it. I realized yesterday that I am a free man with no shackles, nothing holding me back! I am a free man with a wife and three children. It is incredible how blessings can be misinterpreted to be chains. Work, responsibilities, wife, very needy children, all together these can sometimes make a person feel stuck. And I have felt stuck for a long time. I don't mean that I have resented my life, but I have felt that I am not free, that I don't actually have the option to dream.
But guess what! I do have the option to dream! I have been blessed with a job, a Christian community, and a wonderful family. Rather than hindering my dreams, these are all assets I have been blessed with to aid in the fulfilling of my calling! This verse from Galatians has been bouncing around in my head today, "I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me, and the life which I now life in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God who loved me and gave Himself for me." Oooooeeeeee!!! Jesus died but then three days later busted out of the grave in victory with all freedom and power and authority... and I have been crucified with him! I have been buried with him and have risen up a new person!
I am Ryan Burgett, follower of Jesus. I live, work and love for His glory and I am free to pursue the dreams He has put in my heart by the power of His holy name. Woohoo! That BLOWS MY MIND! The life of faith is the most exciting life imaginable. I am a blessed man. Praise Jesus!!!
